960 new homes are just the start at Waterford
When John Reamer builds a new subdivision, people notice. The residential developer of more than 2,000 lots in the Birmingham area – including Eagle Point on Cahaba Valley Road and Forest Lakes off U.S. Highway 280 near Chelsea – has raised eyebrows with his immense Waterford subdivision in Calera.
Starting with 960 homes, the "community" as Reamer calls it, located three miles from the Super Wal-Mart on Interstate 65, eventually could include 3,000 to 4,000 houses.
